RESISTIRÉ is organising a conference at the University of Deusto to discuss the challenges and lessons learned during the COVID-19 pandemic.
RESISTIRÉ partners will present highlights from the two project research cycles and the recommendations based on these findings. Key actors will be provided with guidance for more inclusive and effective crisis management; to support the implementation of measures to mitigate or manage the consequences of current policies and to better adapt future crisis response strategies.
The event will be structured in three roundtables:
9:30-10:30 – Contributions of the RESISTIRE project to inclusive crisis management.
In this first roundtable, RESISTIRÉ scientific coordinator Sofia Strid (University of Gothemburg, Sweden) will present the results of the first and second research cycles of the project and will summarise the emerging recommendations for political actors and civil society organisations.
10:30-11:30 – Political actors in the management of the COVID-19 crisis and gender inequality+. Lessons learned, success stories and remaining challenges.
Through the exhaustive mapping carried out during the project’s first and second cycles, RESISTIRÉ provides an in-depth knowledge of the negative impacts of COVID-19 policies on gender+ inequalities. During this roundtable, different national, regional and local policy actors will reflect on the challenges and lessons learned.
12:00-13:00 – The role of civil society in crisis response. Necessary collaboration and Better Stories.
RESISTIRÉ has mapped inspiring practices of civil society organisations and policies that mitigate the impact of COVID-19 policies. These good practices are called “Better Stories”, a concept developed by Dina Georgis. This roundtable will present the experience of three civil society organisations that have participated in RESISTIRÉ to reflect on the role played by these organisations and the inspiration they can provide.
Please note: this event will be conducted in Spanish.
