RESISTIRÉ is mapping inspiring practices of civil society organisations and policies that mitigate the impact of Covid-19 policies. These best practices are called “better stories”, a concept developed by Dina Georgis. In her book “Better Stories, Queer Affects from the Middle East” Dina argues that there is always a better story than the better story and proposes story as a method for social inquiry and a tool to access and understand how political histories are written.
In this podcast we have the honor of having Dina Georgis with us. Dina Georgis is associate professor at the Women & Gender Studies Institute at the University of Toronto. She will be in conversation with RESISTIRÉ partner Ayşe Gül Altinay, professor of anthropology and gender studies at Sabancı University, Turkey, and former director of SU Gender, the university’s Gender and Women’s Studies Center of Excellence.
